MULTIMEDIA SHORT FILM

This short multimedia film reveals how mountaintop removal mining is reshaping the Appalachian landscape, polluting the environment, and threatening the health of residents in Wise County, Virginia.  Featuring interviews with activist Jane Branham and environmental scientist Matt Halper, the film details the damaging effects that the practice of exploding the tops off the mountains to access the coal within are having on both the local environment and the economy in this underdeveloped region of the United States.
