Dinosaur Adventure Park, Niagara Falls, Canada, 2017

From: £250.00

Human Accumulations explores the fall from grace of one of America’s most famous icons.  Once a symbol of natural magnificence, Niagara Falls has been fought over by businessmen and officials seeking to profit from the waterfalls for industry and tourism, and conservationists wanting to protect it.

While Niagara Falls, New York, has seen a decline in population with the loss of industry, the Canadian city has grown because of their focus on tourism. This photograph documents an amusement park on Clifton Hill, a street dedicated to funfair attractions that runs uphill from the waterfront on the Canadian side.

The city mayor, Jim Diodati, is proud of the high levels of awareness associated with the Niagara Falls brand, describing the Canadian city as the “Coca Cola of municipalities… I think for a lot of people Niagara Falls represents fun.  And whether you are interested in golf, trails, history, culture, restaurants, gaming, we’ve got all sorts of neat attractions.”

This image was exhibited at the RECLAIM Billboard Festival, Cologne (2019) and POW WOW! Shutterhub, Rotterdam (2019).

Available in two sizes, printed on fine art quality Canson Arches 88 paper:

A0 – Edition of 5

A3 – Edition of 10
